Question Cali. model or not

How can I tell if I have a California model or not. I ask because I ran the VIN today and found out it was manufactured in Van Nuys.

There are Two Van Nuys in the US. One in Indiana and one in California.

I can't find a GM Plant in either (maybe 14 years ago, but not today).

But either way it got me wondering how to tell the diff.

The paint should look real bad by now. I mean the worst oxidation imaginable. They took something out of the paint or clear due to pollutions in the mixture causing the paint to go quicker than those sprayed in a different factory in another state. At least that's what I was told. Seeing as how it's califorina it makes sence. { I can never spell that right } If someone says this is i wouldn't argue with em' I'm not setting this in stone. I'm also not saying there was a plant in Indiana either. Man, it seams like you have to put a disclaimer in with everything you say to avoid ridicule these days.

Well I finally got around to pulling the RPO codes and the code "VAN" is for Van Nuys, Ca. But I guess it's got the fed emissions, not the Ca emissions.

That makes me somewhat happy

I'll call the , but I don't feel like writting the novel explaining why your opinion is not so. Just know that my 1984 Z28 built in Van Nuys,Ca still sports it's OEM paint in great condition (see sig).
