Cam selection what are your thoughts on this one?
Have a friend that had this cam in his motor. He ran 12.9's with lots of problems in a fat pig of an LT1 'vert, dreamer1q if you know him. The car weighed in at 3900 lbs with driver I believe.
Anyway, his cam is a custom grind akin to the LT4 hotcam.
Specs: 228* 233* .529" .522" 112 LSA 108 centerline.
I'll have to knock the dowel pin out but thats all. Seems its what I was gonna be getting anyway. What are your thoughts on that cam with my setup assuming my AFR 195's and hydrarev kit?
He made 392 RWHP with it on a setup pretty damn close to mine.
ARE stage I LT1 heads (flow damn close to AFR 195's ) LT's, 10.5 or 11:1 CR, LT1 intake (flows roughly just like the HSR), with a 3500 convertor and 3.73's. My differences are SLP shorties and a vigilante 2800. Other than that our parts are pretty close to the same characteristics. I'm gonna cross post this to thirdgen.org too.

I don't have any experience with a similar cam to that, but from what I know a "single pattern cam" will make more power with aftermarket or ported heads. Usually the differences from intake to exhaust numbers is to help boost the weak heads...not needed for yours.
What was the idle vacuum?? in/hg

Go big or don't go at all man. I'd find something with a more aggressive/bigger lift lobe. If it's a good deal like...free...hehe I'd try it at least. Get one of thos esweet 2 or 3 piece timing covers too for cam swap ease. Later Brad.
