Re: Cam Swap??
I've Flowmasters or I "had". I had to take a sawsall to it to drop my tank. I had no other option. Don't ask. lol Would I be able to do it myself, reasonably or is this something I might want to pay a shop to do?

Re: Cam Swap??
thats why i didnt get my cat back system welded at the muffler. one of the nice things about the hookers is, if you have disk, you can un bolt at the cats, dis connect at the trans, un bolt the calipers to let the rear drop further and yank the whole system out with ease.

Re: Cam Swap??
My cousin was the previous owner and he bought the thing brand new. Had the system welded. Funny thing was, that was the factory pump that went out on me, damn thing had 216K on it.

Re: Cam Swap??
If you're doing a complete exhaust, you can disregard the application information. They state those years because the system is designed for a dual cat vehicle. Those header will bolt right in. You'll just need some way of attaching the y-pipe to the intermediate pipe - and that depends upon which system you buy. Catbacks from 1982-2002 are identical, the only exception is the connection to the y-pipe. But don't let that stop you from either buying the system you prefer, OR the option of the same brand. ANY exhaust shop can make them work together. For example: I have a system designed for a 98-02 on my 85.

Re: Cam Swap??
i had the stock cat and Y on my car but i had/have the Edelbrock cat back system and all i had to do was cut the flange off of the intermed pipe on the cat back side and slip the pipe into the end of the cat when i went with my hooker 2055's.

Re: Cam Swap??
I installed hooker headers on my '91 Z28 but there was no stock y-pipe to hook-up. I had to call around and I eventually found a garage that built custom y-pipes. Cost me about $200, and I had to get the car towed there since it would not have been nice to driver there with only shorty headers on the car.
