Cam Swap question

Im putting a new camshaft in my 92Z28 L98 camaro. Ive done a cam swap on my chevelle while the motor was still in. But, I had a grill to work with and put the cam through. Now, on the camaro there is no grill. After the radiator and condensor are outta the way, is there enough room to slide the cam out of the engine and the new one back in? Or, do I have to take the front facia off the car? Anyone have any luck doing this? Let me know what works please. THanks

Josh

Re: Cam Swap question

I got mine in without even pulling the rad. Just pulled the condensor.

Re: Cam Swap question

Do you have to remove the intake manifold or just the distributor? Cause the less I have to remove the better.

Re: Cam Swap question

Intake and distributor has to come off cause you gotta get the lifters out and replace them with any cam swap.

Re: Cam Swap question

Its a factory Hyd roller motor..so the lifters are roller/hydraulic stock already. And the cam is a roller/hyd. So, I dont have to put new lifters in do I?

No you dont have to replace them, but you still have to remove them to pull the cam out...which means off comes that PITA TPI.
