Just curious which car weighs more and by about how much? I've got both, just trying to decide which one should be the drag car and which one is going to be the daily driver? The lighter car wins.

Also, is there such a thing as a torque bar relocation bracket or crossmember for the 1992 RS? I'm using a powerglide transmission.

The 91 RS weighs less. From the quick search I did, 1991 Camaro RS's weigh about 3100 lbs while a LT1 Z28 weighs over 3500 lbs.

I'd reccommend the RS as the drag car. More room under the hood to work.

Ya I know about the space thing, I did a tune up on the LT1, ya that engineer deserves a good lashing..............I swear it looked good on paper and it fit great on the computer. Just curious what to do with the torque bar that bolted to the old tailhousing of the 700r4.

alot of the better made torque arms have a seperate cross bar to weld in the car, that the torque arm attaches to.

Yes, the quality and finish are amazing. I have one and I have had nothing but good to say about it.

way wrong info,
my completely stock RS 305/700r4 was 3614 w/me in it @220 lbs.
92 z28 5.7/5spd w/me in it was 3720
96 z28 5.7/6spd w/me weighs 3540
a lighter drag car would be the 4th gen, stated above you will have more room to work in using the 3rd gen.(really just easier to move around in)
either way you go you will have a sweet ride!

i wish a 3rd gen weight 3100 before lightening mods! I would turn the 92 into the race car. more room to work with. Plus the 94 is probably worth more so keeping it street drivable would probably be a good idea. The spohn torque arm is awesome, its the one i run, it comes with the tranny crossmember with the mount on it. its is about $400 though. I dont know if they make one for the PG yet, but i know if you get the Jegster Tq arm, it comes with its own crossmember that pretty much just bolts to the trans tunnel.

the jegster bar is awesome been using them since 94,they also have the best fitting SFC on the market (IMO).
another idea to run any tranny you want is here, this elimimates the TQ arm completely www.g-forcesuspension.com
go here for direct link http://www.g-forcesuspension.com/pag...og/i.php/81/55

Gotta wonder what scales you used. I fine it difficult to believe your 5spd weighs more then your auto.
There are a lot of sites with technical data and ALL of them have the 3rd Gens. coming in a few hundered pound lighter then the 4th Gens.
This is typical: 3rd Gens. ~3105 - 3476; 4th Gens. ~3436 - 3521.
Individual results may very! But generally the 3rd Gens are lighter.

also depends on the options of the car. If u have a 3rd gen transam vs. a 1LE z28, the z28 is gonna weigh less.

I don't see why theres all the confusion hes not asking about a z28 or a 1le hes asking about a RS.

My '91 RS was 3440 with me in it and my '92 Z28 is 3760 with me. Now granted the '91 was a V6 5-spd with almost no options and the '92 Z28 is loaded with the 350 A4.
