changing tranny mount
ive been told to jack up the tranny by the tail shaft. ARE U SURE THIS OK the driveshaft aint gonna pop out or i aint gonna bend anything on the way up to the engine doing this. im just a lil nerous thats all. but if thats the way to do it then ill knock it out

I've always jacked mine up by the rear of the pan, with a short length of 1x4 or 2x4 between the jack and pan to keep from bending it up. As far as the drive shaft goes, it should be fine as long as you are only taking the trans up enough to relieve pressure on the cross member for removal - just keep an eye on it to be on the safe side.

Your right,dont take out the member.
Take the bolt out that goes through the member into the tranny mount,then jack it up a little bit and take the other 2 bolts out for the mount...remove and replace. Be sure to read the INSTRUCTIONS as to weather or not they want you to use the extra steel plate that comes with it or not...Its hard to remember that far back for me but I think when I changed mine I did use it.
