Check my list for T56 swap!

Hey guys! I'm working a deal with a guy on ebay for a T56 conversion but we've agreed that a list would be best so neither of us have any surpirses. Could you check over what I've got and let me know if it looks good or I missed something?

*Clutch pedal assembly
*Slave cylinder / hydraulic lines / tank
*Flex plate
*Clutch
*Fork
*Bellhousing
*Transmission / tail shaft / shifter / rubber shifter boots to seal off the floor pan.
*May need the driveshaft too. I've heard mixed opinions on the driveshaft length on the swap.
*all bolts washers and nuts that come off the transmision

Thanks, Ken

Looks good. You need a crossmember though. I've got the Spohn one with the Adjustable Tq Arm. Very quality piece, IMO.

You don't need a new driveshaft. If you do it right, the trans is in the same place as the stock one. The cross member will bolt right up to where the old one was...direct fit, same driveshaft.

Good luck.

I didn't put the crossmember on the list because I was going to order the spohn piece.

I think I'm going to ask for the DS anyway just to play it safe. If I don't use it I can alwayse sell it off to someone for $20.

If you're swapping from 700-R4 you'll need the console piece.

If you're swapping from 700-R4 you can use your driveshaft, not sure about T-5. If his is aluminum get it on principle.

If you're swapping from T-5 hydro clutch you can use your original pedals.

If you're swapping from T-5 mech clutch it's a major PITA trying to get the master cylinder to line up right.

I would get new hydros just so you don't have to worry about leaks. They're only like $100, pre-filled and bled.

Go ahead and replace your tranny mount while you're under there.

You'll need some kind of speedo converter depending on what speedo you have.

And make sure it's an LT1 tranny...I've seen a lot of people get screwed that way.

If you need tips and tricks for the swap feel free to email me. Good luck with it.

If your engine has a 1 piece rear main seal than the LT1 flywheel should bolt up to the crank,....... but if your engine has a 2 piece rear main seal than you need a "special" flywheel for the t56 conversion.

Also check to see if this guy can give you the factory T56 electrical plugs !!!!!
