compression difference
i was going to purchase the dart iron eagles but my friend said that compression would be to high resulting in bad gas milege and not being able to run on 92.
so i was thinking about buying the edelbrock etec aluminum heads to keep compression down and run on 92
would i still be able to run 92 withe the darts or do i need aluminum
dont want to run any higher than 10.1 cr

It all depends on the camber cc measurement. The lower the cc's the higher the compression. The cc measurment is a cubic measurement of the Combustion Chamber. The more volume you have the lower your compression ratio will be. You need to find out what the car came with stock. Then you'll know what heads will work and which ones won't.

i dont care about the stock heads they are junk i am building a new 383 for my 91 and i am either going to run Edelbrock aluminum etecs or Dart iron eagles depending on what will keep me around 10.1 cr
both have 200cc intake and 64cc comp chambers

I have AFR190 heads and am running 10.8:1. I told AFR what I wanted to run for compression, what gasket and they made it a 66 cc head (If memory serves me).
From what I gathered, you can run 1 point more compression with alumunum heads vs iron heads. Furthermore, a pair of heads with Roller Rockers and Valve Covers weighs about the same as 1 iron head. Will help takeoff too with lighter front end.
