Cylinder Heads?

Just looking for some recommendations on a set of heads for the motor im building. 383 w/forged internals. Comp xe284h 240/246 @.50 - .507in .510ex valve lift, 1.5 roller rockers, holley 750dp, rpm airgap intake. Should have about 10.5 to 1 comp ratio. My budget is about $1200-$1300. Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

Geoff

AFR is the way to go. If you're a little tight on money, trickflow makes some nice heads.

I've got the AFR 195's on my 383. They are a great investment. Matter of fact i'm getting ready to pull them off and install a newer set of the 210's (Procharger in my future). I might have a buyer but if you are seriously looking for a set of AFR's i would sell mine for 1000 plus shipping. Mine are 67cc (i believe) with angle plugs and all the accesory holes in the ends.

What's it's intended use? An Air gap intake probably means it's a street car only? Stick car or auto(what stall also?) I'd do AFR 210's with a Vic Jr intake, 1.6 rockers for a bit more lift and let it eat. AFR's look to be $1440 spipped free from Flatlander racing. 195's can be had with a 65cc chamber for more compression but if you do the 210's, they have a 76cc chamber and that will lower compression. Depends on what piston you are working with, etc. They can be milled for a slight fee, same with the intake to match it. Sounds fun, goodluck!

Its going to be a street car, will not see much time at the track. Iv got a built 700r4 with a 3000 stall w 3.73's.

195's with small chamber are a good bet then. I hope you have good tires. ET Radials will either shatter that rear axle or seriously put you back in the seat, either way I'd give them a try on whatever rim you have. If Slush92RS is legit, that might be a killer deal. Do some checking around, etc. Goodluck!

Yeah the rear end is definitly going to be the week link. I do have some decent tires though. Anyway i think im going to buy the heads new and get them shipped with my shortblock, its only a few hundred more and it shouldnt cost me more on shipping. Thanks for the offer though and thanks for the reply's.
