Dirt - that's 100% BS!

So you're telling me a poor flowing B2L iron headed, 9.3:1 350ci engine with poor flowing exhaust manifolds and a tiny cam will make over 300HP? Not likely. Hell, the LT1 at best was rated at 305HP, and it has a better intake, better flowing heads and exhaust manifolds, a larger cam, and a lot more compression.

52rwhp from an LT1 intake swap, and then 62HP from and HSR swap?! What next? 70rwhp from a Tornado

wow.... this thread is getting serious! i just want to say congrats on the gain, no matte how you got it, its still a gain and you cant beat that! im looking to get about 350rwhp out of my car and that puts you very close... congrats!

hey i have a question related to the LT1 intake, i have a friend that had an 96 LT1 parts motor, and he would sell me it cheap. intake, fuel rail and injectors. my ? is would the injectors work for my L98? they are 24 lb hr right? how mods the intakes? i can get access to a bridgeport and do it myself but really dont want to (read: lazy) thanks

What everyone here is doing is forgetting that the HSR or LT1 intake will usually lose your low end grunt a little bit but make up for it in hp numbers on the top end. BUT you have to have a cam and heads and a convertor to take advantage of these gains. I'm still amazed that there was a claimed 52hp gain from swapping an intake on a stock 92Z. Honestly, I saw no gain on an already modded engine.

My personal experience with the HSR is I would never buy one again unless I actually start to see some big numbers with tuning. I put AFR 195's, custom cam, and a soon to be installed Racetronix Walbro setup in my car. It doesn't feel very fast, yet. If this thing proves me wrong and I do end up making like 350 RWHP or more I'll endorse it.

I'm making 411 RWHP and 447 RWTQ with a set of AFR 190s and a custom cam and of course, the chip was dyno tuned. See link.

Don't forget that with a set of stickers, chrome and the fuel magnet, you could be getting close to 100 HP.

Ricktpi over at TGO has a similar setup. 383, AFR 195s, mild Comp XR276, and the HSR and is running 115mph or so. I don't know his dynos, but they should be up around 400rwhp or so.
