Edelbrock TPI

Anyone have any opinions on the edelbrock TPI. MY friend wants to put it on his 305 LB9 5 speed car. He is tired of the stock car losing hp past 4400 rpms. Will it really give 20 hp over stock? Can it pull past 5500 rpms? What about the top part? Does it need any work from them? How much better does it flow. For 700 bucks, u wonder lol.

Re: Edelbrock TPI

He should have his plenum ported to match the bigger runner holes. My car is in the shop getting this done now. I have the SLP runners with a Scoggin Dickey base plate. The runners are about an inch and a half shorter than stock. They should add the advertised 20HP atleast. You can do a yahoo search like: TPI runner porting: and it will show you how to do it. I'm just paying the shop to do it.
