Engine Removal

Im pulling the engine out in my iroc and I had a few quick questions. The whole top end of the engine is already off including the heads. Where is the best spot to attach the chain for the cherry picker? Also, the bell housing bolts and motor mount bolts are removed, do I need to remove the flex plate bolts also? Will I run into any problems as far as the engine and trans being connected? Any tips are helpful, thanks!

you have the mount bolts and bellghousing bolts out, how about the torque convertor to flexplate bolts?there are 3

use the head bolt holes to lift it

make sure to put a jack under the trans

You have to disconnect the flex plate from the TC to get it out. Support the tranny and make sure it is held in place by wire until the engine is back

Take the tranny out. You'd have to remove the cooler lines (be careful or you break something. The are screwed into the radiator). Also the electrical harness, DS and try not to hit the radiator on the way out or in

The radiator, harness, and drive shaft are already out. The only thing left in the engine compartment is the block, and the ac/heater plenum. I would have to put the bell housing bolts back in though.
