engine upgrade ideas
I Just Bought A Mint 88 Gta With All The Suspension And Drivetrain Work Done To It And A Full Exhaust From The Headers Back, But The Owner Left The Engine Stock. A 350 Tpi Motor, I Was Wondering What I Should Do To Get Some More Power Out Of Her... My Goal Is To Get To About 300 Hp. I Had An Idea Of Possibly Putting In A Chip, I Was Wondering What The Best One Would Be And What Else I Could To The Engine,... Suggestions Would Be Great Thanks

Well at least the suspension, exhaust, and drive train has been upgraded which will help you launch straight and true. A 350 TPI should have around 225-245 HP at the fly wheel and less on the tires due to parasitic lost from the drive train and accessories. A chip will help but not get you 300 HP. Do not invest money on a tpi foil or MSD box since your stock ignition will be able to handle 300 HP. If you are looking for a quick 300 HP then go with a NOS but if you want a non aspirated engine, then port and polish the heads or go and get AFR heads, bump your fuel pressure, better chip, CAI set up, after market TPI intake, better runners or you can always go with the miniram set up.

Re: engine upgrade ideas
Ditch the TPI and go the LT1 intake route. You can get to 300hp cheeper and easier than aftermarket TPI parts such as base/intake and runners. Your car will also pull past 6,000rpm and not fall off at 4800 like with the stock TPI.With a cam and some head porting and tuneing,300hp's pretty easy. You should also be seeing 375-400 HP at the crank. Thats the cheepest way you'll get there without going carb.

By ditch, do yuo mean get rid of his TPI injection system and go with the LT1 fuel injection system that can bolt on his 350? I saw a website that sold LT1 intake that is modified to bolt on a tpi system.

Yes do away with the TPI intake alltogether. He can still use his TPI wireing harness, injectors, and throttle body and do it cheeper than a Stealth Ram and have money left for other mods.
