Rossler or Pro Built definately. I have a Pro Built and it's workin nicely so far. A 6 speed swap would be more than worth it also. For what a GOOD 700R4 costs, you can do a 6 speed swap with pretty good parts that can probably be all found in your area.

yeah i took my car out last night for a test run and that tranny can not deicde what gear to stay in 3-4 and the transition from 1-2 used to be snap you neck now it is " when is it going into 2nd gear. just for kicks i raced a 96 cobra and i dont beleave i lost if it wasnt for the tranny i would of smoked him i was only maybe a 6in from edgeing him out. o and i have a bad leak somewhere on the tranny too, i am in a whole world of crap

What kind of driving do you do? Do you autocross or drag race? Do you do city driving most of the time or highway?

it is a toy. take it out to cruse nights. drive to the drag strip. i wouldnt do any road trips with it.

Unless you are autocrossing, there is no real need for a stick seeing as you are in town cruising. Also at the drag strip, autos are more consistant. Rebuilding the auto will make it more consistant than you can possibly be for a very long time at the strip. rebuilding the 700R4 will be the easiest way to fix your problems.

I agree 100%. No arguement there. I just prefer a car that's more fun to drive, especially if it's a toy, over something that is a little quicker/more consistant.

I learnt to drive a stick on a beater so I don't screw up something expensive and I have driven a stick with a decent engine in it but I have yet to see the fun in a stick. Got good enough to shift it without clutching but never liked it. Maybe it is me.

Before you do the swap, maybe you should buy a beater and see if you really like it before you cut holes. If I had bought a stick car, it would have been too late to decide if I liked it or not. Just my $0.02

I had a 5 speed car it was a 88 thunderbird turbo coupe with a beefed up turbo. I didnt really like shifting around town too much.
What way is cheeper rebuilding the A4 or getting T-56.

If you can get a T56 cheap it would be cheaper, financially but you have to invest time and effort into it. An A4 would be a few hundred more expensive but you could do it easier and it would be better for the quartermile strip and in town driving is more pleasant.
