Fuel pump voltage

Where does the fuel pump get its voltage from? Fuel pump relay? Direct from the battery? Or from another source. My car threw a code that said the "Fuel pump voltage too high or too low" Thanks

Re: Fuel pump voltage

Voltage is supplied via the fuel pump relay (on the firewall near the brake booster- there are several relays up there that all look the same but do different things like cooling fan(s), fuel pump, MAF sensor if so equipped, etc.)

Where exactly the ECM reads the fuel pump voltage from I don't know.

Low voltage is possible if there is a problem with the relay, wiring, etc. I can't imagine how it could possibly have high voltage, though, since it's just a relay that sends normal battery voltage to the fuel pump.
