gauges

I want to change all the gauges in my Z28 but I want to keep them in the factory places do auto meter make fuel, volts, and temp gauges that small and do they make speedo`s and RPM`s that are factory size? I want to make a plate out of alumium drill holes in it for the gauges and mount them in the factory spot

I don`t want to start mounting gauges everywhere like some people do

Autometer makes more gauges than you could ever possibly have a use for. Mounting them in your dash is a different story though. The general gauges (water temp, oil press, etc) come in either 2 5/8" or 2 1/16" diameters. The speedo and tach are 5" or 3 3/8". It may be possibly to use a 3 3/8" speedo and tach and 2 1/6" everything else and make it fit in the stock space, but it would be tight, and would require a bit of bracket fabrication to mount the panel. Try taking measurements of the stock panel dimensions and drawing it out on graph paper to see if you can fit everything in. Good luck with it!

Looks like they fit just fine. Seems to me you could even run a couple more if you wanted (a/f ratio and fuel pressure perhaps?)

Re: gauges

If you really want cool gauges, try installing the direct-fit digital guage panels by Nordskog. They are really cool and I think the ultimate in gauges. At night, they look great when they are lit up. The panel is a direct fit and all the wire connections hook up with the stock wiring. Looks just like the newer vettes. Maybe go to their web site and check it out. But if you want to use traditional auto meter gauages, try the autometer nite lite series. They glow in the dark and look great also.
