anyone use them? ive heard you cant use the noisy version but i was wondering about a quiet one. i wonder if the knock sensor would pull timing because of it, what do you guys think?

Re: gear drives
I dont know, I've heard that on a scale of 1-10, 10 being loudest, most of these are like a 6-8. Some guys over at TGO said it was comparable to a blower whine. Sounds badass but for daily driving, it would probably lose its novelty pretty quickly. However it depends on what kind of driving you do. I for one, am a pretty agressive driver, and I think I would like something like that, but if you are driving this car to school/work everyday, it might get annoying.
We need someone to get a video clip so we can sticky it or something. I see this question alot.

^Yep I have heard it's comparable to a blower whine as well. Thats the ONLY reason I didn't use a Jackson gear-drive when I rebuilt my motor; i didn't want people thinking I had a blower on my 305. I went w/ a Cloyes Double-chain HD set and I love it thus-far.
