I have a 88 sc camaro, when i got the car the hatch motor would work fine and close perfect, today i closed the hatch and it would lock but not close tight like its suppose to. Has anyone had this problem and does anyone know how i can fix it? What should i check before i buy a new hatch motor?

I had problems with my two previous camaros (89,91), and on my last one I just bolted the unit together to where it didn't move and it acted like a regular trunk latch.
