Hatch Pull Down

Having trouble with the trunk pull down. I have checked the fuse it is good, swapped out the relay with a new one. Still no luck. I opened the trunk last night and the pull down did not come up. The trunk opened and now I can not get it to lock. Can not get the pull down to come up so that I can lock the trunk.

im going through the EXACT same situation right now w/ my 86 IROC. the plastic gear that rotates to raise and lower the pull down is probably stripped. u just gotta get a new one.

this is the gear im talking about.

you can find wat u need here: http://www.fbodymotorsports.com/HatchParts

the pull down gear/screw is only $10...u just need to get White Lithium grease.

Do you happen to know where the contact is that makes the pull down device go up and down? I have been working with it and for now for some reason it is working. I am thinking that I might need to clean the contact.
