hatch pull down motor problems.

hatch pull down motor problems.
Anyone have a wirings schematic for the switches that make this contraption work? I'm having some problems. After I replaced the gear, it won't stop pulling the hatch down when it should. It also won't come back up when the hatch is released.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Mike.

Re: hatch pull down motor problems.
go check out the tech articles at www.thirdgen.org, if I'm not mistaken there is a tech article on how to properly adjust the nut. Sounds like you just have it out of adjustment. Good luck.

my hatch is all messed up too, i just haven't had a chance to dive into it and i won't be able to til i get back home from training after october 5th. let me know what you come up with. the problem with mine is that it won't release the hatch back up and when it pulls it down it stays running and kills the battery.

Contact Lon Salgren at http://www.top-downsolutions.com . He can help you fix it, and if not, he has parts to fix it.

You need to replace your Striker Sensing switch

Re: hatch pull down motor problems.
The wire that runs up the strut is probably for your rear defroster. Definately not for hatch motor.
I got the part I needed from Lon at TDS. Put it in and now I'm having problems. It has been a while since it broke initially so it's possible one of the switches went bad during its down time.
I may have overlooked it but the tech article on 3rdgen.org did not pertain to my car.

Re: hatch pull down motor problems.
The Chiltons manual has a wiring schematic for the rear hatch pull down motor. I remember following it when I repaired an electrical problem with my hatch motor in my previous third gen.
