head gasket

any idea how long it takes to do a head gasket on a 89 GTA ?

Ive done it in about 6 hours with 2 cases of beer, 2 buddies and alot of patience.

What intakes? With my SR intake it takes 5 hrs to just R&R them and that is not counting the intake manifold which is simple enough and the heads.

I havn't done it before so i'm not speaking from experiance here.
How experianced at things like this are you? Personally ive never had the valve covers off before. If I were to do head gaskets, I think I would figure three days. I have this great system, I live at the top of a hill, a service station is at the bottom, so if I get completley stuck, I just roll the car down the hill at night. So I would figure 2 days to work on it, then another day just as a buffer incase I screwed somthing else up.
If you have done it before though, anywhere from 4-8 hours I would guess depending on your experiance, weather or not you have any problems, tool availability, and if someone is helping you.

Have a Chilton or Haynes or better yet a GM manual in front of you and a mechanic on the side whom you pay cash to for getting you out of sticky situations.

I've ripped one down to a short block in the car in 4 hours, with no air tools. It is a TPI car as well. I would figure about 10- 12 hrs
