Headlight Gremlin

Headlight Gremlin
The passenger side headlight of my '89 Firebird is stuck in the up position. The light itself works fine, but the motor is long gone. I decided to get another one in a junkyardand try to install it myself. When I connected the wires of the new motor to the wires in my car, it did nothing. Next I took it to a dealer to see if they could at least explain to me what was wrong if not fix it. They told me I needed a headlight module because it was missing. Now I know what this piece looks like and its there sitting on the firewall so I dont know what this guy is talking about. Is it possible that he was talking about a specific wire within the headlight module or maybe a different piece that's not even supposed to be on the firewall? Any advice on what I should do next?

Maybe they just said you needed a new one. I work for a dealer, and I can tell you that if you talk w/ a service adviser that doesn't know squat about cars, what the tech says, and what the service adviser tells the customer can be two different things.
You can't really measure voltage coming from the module, since it uses a rapidly pulsed (digital) output. You should take your old motor and plug it into the working side and see if it works. You may have just picked up a bad motor from the junkyard. Could also be the module like stated before.
