Unhappy Help With A 1990 Camaro 350 TPI

Hi,
I have a few questions for a 1990 camaro 350 tpi.
it is an automatic and i want to put a manual trans in. would I have to do anything to the ECM to adapt the manual? what manual trans would you recommend for a street/strip car?
also what kind of rear end would be good for street/strip? Also would 24lb injectors be a good size?
thanks for reading and I would appreciate any help at all. I am just trying to make my car a little faster and stronger for the strip.
thanks again
Cory

I'd go with a T56 (6 speed). You can get a nice used one out of a LT1 that will go in quite nicely. The only real trouble you'll have is putting the clutch pedal in. I'm pretty sure you won't have to do anything to the computer.

A 12 bolt rear end would be more than enough for street/strip. But they cost a hefty penny (2 grand). This isn't necessary unless you plan on running some real sticky tires with some power.

24 lb injectors...hmm. It depends on your current/future mods. Unless you're running nitrous, there won't be any need for them. Of course you could have some other serious mods, but from the sounds of it you don't. So I say no to these, invest your money somewhere else.

I fully agree on the T-56 (I have one myself ) and I also agree that the injectors are probably unnecessary. However, I think a 12-bolt rear would be overkill unless you plan on making some REALLY serious power. You can beef up your stock 10-bolt quite a bit...I hear it's perfectly possible to make them good for 400hp all day long.

If that's not enough, you could always hunt down a Borg-Warner 9-bolt. They're tougher than the 10-bolt, but not half as expensive as a 12-bolt swap. They're also a direct bolt-in (since they came stock in some 3rd gens.) Finding a ratio other than 2.77 can be difficult, but if you look they're out there (mine has factory 3.70's.) Most of these rears are also posi/disc from the factory.
