Help me solve my mystery

Hey guys, I'm gonna keep this short:

Basically, my current engine is a mystery. It came in my 1990 IROC when I bought it. Used to be a 305, but I checked the head casting numbers and it ran back to a 350 engine. Heads are 64cc and have a 72degree centerbolt configuration, and mortec says that they came in crate engines as well as Gen I Engines and is good for 285-300hp. Now, I thought the heads from this gen came with GM L98 heads...where the hell are these heads from?? This is a mystery I need to solve before I decide to get a new cam. Are these vortecs??

Re: Help me solve my mystery

Yeah, I already ran that info on Mortec's site, thanks though. Ill try to get the block number, but I thought the L98 motors came with 58cc heads?

TTops btw. And this isnt a stock motor, it was dropped in by a previous owner.

I'm aware, but like I stated before, the car came factory with a 305 (from carfax.com and hence ttops) and the previous previous owner dropped in a 350. I know it's a 350 because all the signs add up. First off the head casting numbers are for a 350 engine, there is 300,000 miles on the od, it's got 5.7 trim that was put on poorly and has fallen off half way, there are dents on the corners of the valve covers, suggesting that it was dropped in on a hoist with chains...more power than a 350, lol.

I'll find the block casting eventually, but for now all I wanted to know was did the Camaros of this generation come with 64cc heads as well as 58cc's? I was lead to believe they all came with 58cc's and mine are 64cc.

87-up 350 GenI
Just means it's a one piece rear seal and probably a roller cam. Does not have to be an L98 and by the looks of things it's not.
What does it have for an intake TPI or Carb.?

Re: Help me solve my mystery

083 are L98 Cast 64cc heads. Your thinking of the Corvette L98 Aluminum heads. Those have 58CC with a cast number of 113. You have a 350 TPI L98 B2L motor.
