Holley Carb probs please help!

my car had been leaning out around corners so i figured id check the float level. to make a long story short... after messing the with adjustment my carb now will shoot fuel when i try to crank it. if i disconnect the fuel line the car will run with the fuel that it just dumped into the carb.

what in the world did i do? side note..anyone with a holley or edelbrock 600cfm carb they dont want let me know!

What exactly did you do, it sounds like the needle isn't seated, or the float level is WAY to high!

Also, float adjustments with Holley must be made with the engine idling...

Did you adjust the float level (inlet needle adjusted at top of float bowl)? If not, your problem might be trash in an inlet needle (might have caused original stalling problem too). If so, look here:

I FIXED MY CARB!

So she isnt finely tuned but i got her to drive again. What I did was remove the case with the float. the metal tab that presses up the needle to stop the flow of gas was pressed down somehow. I just took a flat head screw driver and bent it up a tad and no more geyser. Now i need to figure out how to reconnect the kickdown cable, it was zip tied and im not sure how it was connected. :/
