hood louvers

has anyone made their hood louvers on their car functional.
my car is an 87

I've only heard of one guy who had rigged up ducting to make them functional. It was in an issue of High Performance Pontiac - and as luck would have it - they didn't show how he did it, nor did they explain it.

i also have a '87 Z28, and it would be hot to make my hood louvers functional too!

i already have a ram air system i just want to get rid of all the heat
