Hood pop problem
The cable is tight, and the spring in the latch returns to its position with no problem. It seems, though, that the heavy hood isnt getting enough jump with the (looks like 4 inch tall) spring. Is this a common problem? I am assuming that this is what is the problem.
Thanks.

I know that my buddy who works at an oil change place says that this is a very common problem, mine does the same thing
I shot it up with some WD40, and pulled the lever for a while, didnt work.
Ive found that pulling the lever, then going and hitting the hood over the latch makes mine pop up, prolly not too good for it, but its broken anyways right?

Its been a few days since I have actually looked at that spring, so I havnt analyzed how it attaches to the hood. I guess it's just screwed in there? Or welded...

I have a theory. The spring is too weak. And if you will notice the piece on the latch that actually catches the bar, it is has worn a small dip in it. I think when the hood is popped, instead of it sliding off of the bar(the piece on the hood itself) it catches in the little groove. I got so mad at it one day I dented the hood by losing my temper. Try not to anymore but after 15 minutes it got old. Plus, its nice when people want you to pop your hood before a race. I had a couple give up and forget about it
