HOw can I change my Fuel Pump?
Ok I have to change my fuel pump its not giving any pressure. Not to mention that its a two day job anyway with all the stuff that you have to drop but my exhaust is welded on. So I cant drop it.
Someone told me to cut a hole thru the trunk. Whats the easiest way to do it.

It is possible to peel back the carpet in the hatch area, and cut a hole in the floorpan where the T-top bag sits. That way you can get to the pump without dropping the tank...I've seen quite a few 3rd gens with the hole there. If you decide to go that way do yourself a favor and put a pair of hinges on the piece you cut out or something so that you can close the hole back up...otherwise you'll get exhaust noise and sometimes a fuel smell in the cabin.

I hate seeing people take half-assed short cuts because they're too lazy to do things the right way.

I don't know though I've been thinking about cutting a hole and making an acess panel that nobody will notice... I mean there is nothing wrong with customizing your car... I cut many holes in it already... cut out the rust... cut to make a hood scoop... many many cuts... Nothing wrong with any of them as long as you do them right... so if you are gunna cut the hole make sure you secure it with bolts or find some way of holding it... also try to seal it using rubber or make a crappy silcon seal.. it will reduce rattling and if you ever get an exhaust leak you will be less likely to die

True but if you are going to cut a hole just for easy access, it is probably just as hard to get it just right as it is to drop the tank. Besides, 3rd Gens are done in 92. Your tank as mine was, may be rusting and it would suck to find that you need a new tank after you went thru the trouble of cutting the hole which you have to find some way to secure.
