the paint, engine work, and the new tranny was all instaled and done by a chevy dealer, i forget which one he said but i'll find out friday. i dunno is that a good thing or a bad thing? i guess no one knows chevy's better than someon who works on them all day long?

there is no right or wrong answer on that one.....just because a gm mechanic worked on it doesn't make it right. you should have someone you trust help check it out with you.

as far as paint, the newer it is the more i'd be worried because most people do not spend the proper time or money a nice paintjob needs. you will need to use your judgement and expect the worst.

depending on the price i'd rather have a worn out trans and engine then one that was just redone.....too easy to hide problems with that sort of thing. if you have it checked out and everything is ok go with your instinct but unless i was getting a steal something that has that many things altered i'd definately be careful.

yeah i understand what your saying. i just seem to look at it both ways 1.) like you said they could be trying to hide things and 2.) that they were good owners and did things as they needed to be done to take care of the car i guess thats soemthing you have to judge by the owners. and meeting these people kinda gives me the gut feeling its the later. i dunno we'll see i always listen to my unles advice so if he says hold off i am gonna hold off. and he'll give me an unbiased opinion.
