How much can my t-tops hold
hello everyone, just want you to know i have been getting on this site for a couple of years now and this site is awesome. I currently just recieved a 90 RS with t-tops and wanted to find out how much power this car will be able to handle with the t-tops. I know i will need some sub frame conectors. I also wanted to know is there anything else to help this car deal with the t-tops. My plans for the car will be a stout 350 or 383 with around 450 Hp.
Thanks for any info you can give

Welcome to the board! T-top cars can hold just about the same amount of power. All you'll need for support of the car is SFC's (you already know that though). Good luck man! Out of curiousity, what kind of trans is in the car?

Thanks for the reply rippin, looks like my plans will be ok for the power. It has the 700r4, and i have heard that those trans are a little shorter in the V6 cars so that will have to be tossed out. I would love to put a t56 in but not sure how that would work with a motor not running off of the computer.

Ahhh....the oh-so-popular 6-speed swap. Rippin is in the process, a couple of guys are planning it, 2 people I can think of will finish it in the next few days (not sure if Z-Ghost and Momar post here though) and there are guys like me who did it so long ago that we have trouble driving automatic cars now. Any questions you have, we can answer.
FWIW the T-56 has no use for the computer. The only real electronics in my car are the stereo, the speedo, and the ignition module. The T-56 VSS does require an electronic speedo but your '90 has one so it's not a problem. You'll just have to convert the signal (not difficult at all.)
Let me suggest Alston subframe connectors. Unlike most SFC's, they directly connect the front and rear subframes, instead of running down the edges of the unibody. IMO it's a better design. However, for even MORE strength, it is possible to run both types of SFC's (i.e. Alston subframe-subframe and Spohn perimeter type.)
