Post How much could i get for my car.

I have an 89 Firebird Formula. It's red it could use a new paint job, but the paint looks good. The front bumper needs to be painted because there is a large chip of paint missing about the size of cracker.

It has 181,000 miles with the orignal engine 305 TBI and 700R4 tranny. The engine does not leak or use any oil. The valve seals were replaced last winter. I changed the cap and rotor along with the plugs just for the fun of it. The last tune up was done last winter. The tranny does not leak either and the fluid has been changed regulaly.

The interior is black and in really good shape. The only problem is the seat belt cover in the headliner does not want to stay in and it needs seatbelt guides.

The T-tops have very few minor scratchs and they only leak if you take it through a car wash.

It has brand new Wagner Thermostop brake pads and I turned the rotors when I replaced the pads. The over-the-axle pipe and muffler are brand new. Along with new Dunlop AR40s tires. The rear of the car squeks if you shake it which I think it is the bushings needing replacing.

The car has been babied for the last 100,000 miles (This car has been in the family for a long time.) I have the service records from about 80,000 miles till I took over ownership.

Oh ya there is a little bit of rust on the bottem of both doors, little spots along the windshield, and a little spot on the left rear quater panel.

It gets about 20-21 MPG.

Forgot to add it does have A/C and I converted to to R134a.

How much do you think I can get for it. Kelly Blue book said 2,500 when I did the walkaround rate it thing.

I tried to email you with the pictures but it said your email address was invaild. I don't have a way to post them on the net.

Also to everyone else who reads this I forgot to mention. The passenger door lock was knocked out when someone stole the stereo 6 months ago. I have another lock cylinder with the car but the metal needs to be fixed. Also the door handle on that side is a little loose but works fine.

Before I read the KBB price you posted, I was thinking $1800 to $2000.

Thats what my dad said around 1800-2000. I was going to sell it now and see how much I could get but I'm thinking about waiting till spring and selling it then. I thought about putting a 2500 for sale sign in it and see what happens.

With that many miles, you'd be lucky to get $2500. (My numbers put it closer to $2300.) But why not give it a nice wax job and slap a $3000 OBO price tag on it and see what happens?
