How much stronger are the 9 bolt rears?

Do you have the brakes and calipers? The 89 version has both calipers on the rear of the rotor, while the 88 and older version has the calipers on opposite sides, one in front and one behind.
I'd say you have a good find on your hands. If its complete with brakes you could sell it for $400 or so.

Me thinks with the powerglide it will last several 4k launches in 3500lb or less car, so long as it is in good condition. The lighter, the better. Me thinks with a manual, it would not last alot of launches, regardless of condition..

Id like the final weight of the car with cage, but without me in it to be well under 3000 lbs. RIght now it has no interior save driver seat, nothing in the enigne bay, or dash that isnt necessary. Condensor, heater core etc...all gone. I dont know what else I can just throw out. I found a place that has fiberglass fenders for a reasoable price. I think Im gonna grab two of thsoe and a fiberglass cowl hood.
