how often should the thermostat be replaced

question in the description

i asked someone how to do a cooling system flush and they said it depend if you are changing the thermostat or not, so what do you guys have to say,

one last thing what is the best way to bleed the air out too

Only if it fails or act up. I never changed it for flushing or coolant changes.

Is there a problem that makes you want to do it? I mean, if your thermo gasket is leaking, get a new one, test it and change it if it has been many years and you think it is running hotter than it should. If not, leave it be.
