I suppose the O2 sensor COULD make your car run worse when it's heated... the O2 sensor doesn't start sending readings until a certain temp... and if the O2 sensor is bad, or has a lot of build-up on it, then it could send the WRONG values to your computer, and it'll screw everything up.
So I imagine that's one thing it could be. If not, then i'm not sure

BTW mine also lost power when it was fully warmed up. My guess is that it would lose roughly 20 - 30 hp and abouth the same torque. Still had plenty of get up and go but would not spin tires (0 - 60 in 5.2 sec).
I put in a cooler thermostat and fan switch. Now if I hit it hard I tend to leave twin black streaks for 20 feet or so. Now I have a traction problen on take off.

Possibly. My 91z had a leak but it only occured when the engine was running. I crawled under the rear end after smelling gas for a couple of days and could see some small stains from the gas running off the top of the tank. For whatever reason the smell was gone once the car sat for a couple of hours but came back after it was started. I would have attempted the repair myself but when I started to look at the job, I realized that the exhaust had to come down; and the exhaust was so bad that it would have to be replaced from the cats back; and the car is my daily driver; most of my leisure time is spent working on my 72; I work full time; and go to school at night. I let a shop do the job - exhaust and gas tank.

You can buy the socket at just about any auto parts store for about $12,and some store will loan them(with deposit). Jack the car up on stands go in from the drivers side underneth and reach up to accecss the O2 unplug the lead carfully as they get brittle from the heat, then use the socket to remove, and replace. The hole job for a beginner about 45 minutes.
