I want to get rid of my TPI...
i want to ditch the TPI and go for something better... i like the MR, but if the LT1 intake gives the same power that the MR dishes out, i'd rather go with the LT1 intake. the HSR looks too ugly to me... but it's pretty cheap. i really don't plan on revving the iroc past 6 grand, and i don't want to waste a lot of money on the intake either... so here're my questions:
1] from 1k to 6k (rpm), which intake produces the most low end torque and highest top end hp?
2] i have ported stock heads... if i get the LT1 intake now and later wanted to get a set of AFR 195's, would there be a problem installing the intake on the AFR's?
3] look at my sig... which intake do you think i'd get the most gains from, and how much of a gain do you think that would be?
4] does anyone know how much more power there is to gain from porting out the LT1 intake?
i have a cam that's rpm range is from 1500 to 5500, but im sure i wont have a problem pulling it to 6k from time to time. the LT1 intake looks like the best bang for the buck, but if the HSR can pull more power up to 6k, then i'd spend the extra money on that.... i just wont pop the hood for ppl due to the fact that it looks like a silver brick ontop of the intake manifold, lol
im just getting tired of the limit tpi has... i want to run deep into the 12's, or maybe touch 11's without nitrous. i know you have to match your whole setup accordenly, so thats why im looking for an intake that would compliment my setup that i have so far. im planning on getting a TC after i get my intake, so i know what stall to get. im kinda iffy about the HSR because i've heard mixed reviews about it... i've heard of some ppl only gaining a couple tenths after the install, and some even losing power, so i don't know if i even want to go there at all, lol
thanks you guys for reading all my crap, and for your input... take care

might dabble in porting and what not, need a like system to learn on. Also want to get some pieces ceramic coated for show, would be nice to have a set to work with off the car so as not tokeep her down for so long ...

im still debating between the LT1 intake and the HSR for my combo... look at my sig. later, afr 195's are going on, and probably a s/c if i feel the need for more power (and if i have the flow to do it)

Stealth, would you be willing to sell off the top end, just need the TPI setup, for a decent price that is. I don't really need it, which is why I was gonna take his setup. I mainly need plenum/ fuel rails / and some other odds and ends
Thanks man
