just a thought

would the shift boot (A4) from an 87 F birdy work on a 88 camaro? reason i ask is my plate where the shifter comes out in my maro is ugly, cracked, and just ....bleck..........would an 87 birds shifter plate cover thinger work?


btw, whats the reall name of these plates?

I am pretty sure they go by "shift plate" but I don't think the bird one would work. The center consoles are considerably different

oh yeah i forgot about the lighter and crap bein next to the ash trey in the birds, ect ect.......oh well, just got to thinkin

try looking at thirdgenresource.com
they usually can have you compare the parts to see if they're the same (just by looking at the pics) and usually group them together if they are
not saying you need to buy from there, but it is sort of a rational, logical, deductive way to find out

the only thing is that the cig lighters in the bird r in the ash trey, and maros r in the dash....but im thinkin about puttin my shift light in my stock cig lighter hole anyways....the f-bird cig lighter location would just add to the trick-ness ill look into this some more

I had my shiftlight in the lighter socket hole for a long time. It was a good place for it, and very visible (I had it aimed slightly up and toward the driver.) The lighter wasn't an issue for me since I don't allow smoking in the car.

i know about you doing it, i stole it from ya i didnt know whom i got the idea from so i didnt know whot og ive gredit too

btwm how did yoyu fasten your light down? glue? i have mine set in there but im not sure the est way to hold 'er down
