y woudl u want to put an LT1 into a 3rd gen.. i mean an lt1 is a l98 on crack.. reverse cooling.. opti.. not alot of aftermarket mods for it.. IMO just get an L98 and put a mini ram on it if u want the LT1 look

LOL...please tell me you're joking.

Not a lot of aftermarket mods for it? Are you serious?!

compared to LS1's & L98/tpi.. no.. there are not alot of mods.. granted.. u can still do H/C/I, exuast, and a power adder... but the # of different companys for lt1 are fewer then the others

I highly disagree.

I feel TPI applications have less of an aftermarket than LT1s, without question, and the LS1 aftermarket is slowly increasing.

But to each their own.

Can I get an LT1 into my 91 TBI? Does the TBI also use reverse cooling? Or am I better off getting the LS1. LT1's are much cheaper to modify than LS1's. Just take a look at the price of LS1 cams..$500.

Wink

Why don't you just get the GM 350 HO Crate???? It puts down a little more horses than the LT1 and you can have a TPI or Carb on it. VORTEC heads rule!!!!!

Vortec heads are good STOCK heads...but they don't offer much to work with along the lines of porting. Not only that but they're cast iron. Who wants to run iron heads on a performance application? Sure as hell not me.

They're good stock, but there are far better heads out there to use in a built engine, IMO.

Don't be jealous because your running an LT1 j/k

The reason why you cannot port them is 'cause GM said "Why sell a head that needs to be ported....lets do it for them". Ok, maybe then did not say that, but that IS the basic principle. All I need to do is do some spring work and change the cam and I will have a bonified 385 HP mill with IRON heads. Heavy Bastages

I thought you had a website for your car......I think I have seen it but would love to see your LT1 application again!!

They really don't flow that well, though. A minor port job to something like an LT1 head and it will outflow a Vortec head without a problem...and they're aluminum.

I do have a website for my car...but it is outdated...I need to get some more recent pics, etc. BUT...there is a link in my sig to the website.
