Magnaflow Exhuast
does anyone know how hard it would be to put a Magnaflow exhuast for a lt1 on a 87 305 tpi? ive heard that people do it and you just have to make a few mods here and there. it would be item # MPE-15620 on summit. thanks

Re: Magnaflow Exhuast
a shop is going to have to bend some tubes for you to get it to fit. if i were you i'd just get the muffler and weld it up onto your stock piping. that would be much cheaper and it would be virtually the same thing

Re: Magnaflow Exhuast
Lets see, how is an aftermarket mandrel bent 3" i-pipe the same as a stock 2.75" crimp bent i-pipe? And on some 305's the i-pipe is 2.5".
The only difference between a fourthgen and thirdgen cat-back exhaust is where it hooks up to the cat. The i-pipe, over-the-axle pipe, muffler, and tail pipes are the same. You'll need a muffler shop to make the connection between your cat and the i-pipe, other than that it will bolt right in.
I have a Magnaflow muffler and so does my dad. They sound great! I hope you enjoy the sound too.

Re: Magnaflow Exhuast
Can you post pics of how you hung your intermediate pipe and tail pipes? I have a 15620 Magnaflow kit, and need some ideas for mounting. I planned on using 360 swingers for the tail pipes, but not sure which route to go for the intermediate pipe where it goes over the axle. pics would great, or written explanation, thanks
