Moving the battery to the trunk?

Moving the battery to the trunk?
Well, since my battery is completely dead, I thought that when I buy a new one I might move it to the trunk. Anyone know how much time, money etc. this would be?
Any good battery recommendations?
And finally any advantages to moving it to the trunk besides more weight in the back, less up front?

You should get an optima there sealed, last a long time, but they cost around $120 for the red top one.
They work great and last 2X as long as regular batteries in the equment I work on.
You will need some thick wire,I think 2,4ga wires going to the starter will work.
When I do mine, I have a peace of 1/2'' thick Al wire and a peace of 4ga copper. I'm going to use that to run from the trunk to the starter. (I got both for free) I'm going to hook a battery conecter to the end of the wire and use that to conect to the starter.

definately only a drycell. get a redtop as they are the most dependable with the longest warranty.
you want a drycell so that you don't have to encase the battery in a box and drill a venthole out of the bottom of the car. that and there is less chance of any time of "leakage". i had to remove mine for my custom CAI. i believe in parts i had roughly 200 with the battery and necessary installation equipment.
the weight transfer helps i suppose, but nothing your ever going to notice. do it because you need the room under the hood. not for a performance gain. remember that if you ever want to run down a track at a sanctioined event you will have to have an outside shutoff valve.
good luck.
