my car is stalling out...
Alright, somethings definately not right with my car its stalled the last two nights in a row when I've stopped at a stoplight and then try and go. As if It wasn't getting the right fuel mixture or something. The first time was at my friends when I was pulling up his driveway and it stalled out. When I got it started back up I shut it off and started it back up again and it sounded like it was missing or something...like it wasn't getting enough fuel or something.
I have an 84 305 and its an auto.
I'm really afraid its something big, but I'm not mechanic, so I really don't know whats wrong with it. One guy suggested the possibility of a new fuel filter which is only like $5. Also, when I turn the car on and let it idle for during the first 1 or so, it'll let off some smoke...not white or anything, but its more like a darker smoke not really dark though...kinda grey actually. So, I'm thinking maybe something is blocking the exhaust.
Whatever it may be though I just hope somebody can shed a little light onto the matter, because I sure don't know!

dude, i have teh same exact problem
my uncle is looking at it (mechanic) and i'll let you know what it is
i seem to think it's either the fuel pump (sort of expensive) or like you said a fuel filter
but, the thought of doing all the work to put in a new fuel filter-
i'll try and post when i find out what the problem is
