Need help from carbed guys

What size air cleaner do you use with the edelbrock Air Gap intake manifold and a 650 cfm carb to fit under the stock Camaro RS hood?

you really need to run a drop base filter to clear the stock hood, and you CANT run one with a edelbrock carb.

try a lil 7 or 9" deal that has the paper element. they are only one inch tall. will fit, but reduces airflow. bigger filter, more air.

good luck!

Not true. I'm running a Performer RPM (old style, non-air-gap) intake, Edelbrock 750 carb, and 14x3 K&N with a 1" drop base air cleaner. It clears the hood with room to spare.

Smile

You just saved me $700 for a cowl hood (shipped, painted and installed).

It clears by about 5/8"

Make sure your motor mounts are good because if they let the engine shift too much the air cleaner will hit the hood.
