Unhappy New Cables & Spark Plugs - Slow to Start

Hi everyone,

I just put new cables (7mm) and new platinum 4 plugs in my z28. After I installed everything i noticed that the car took awhile to start.

My buddy says the same thing happens when he changes his plugs and cables on his z28.

I noticed the my distributor cap the top had a bit of white build up.

Is this normal that the car not start right away? Before the car was starting right away and idle was smooth. Now its slow to start and i feel it a bit jumpy...

Some Chevrolet vehicles hate bosch plugs. I assume that you are using bosch plugs since it said platinum 4's. I bought a set of them for my 86 ran like crap, sputtering and wanting to die. I traded them for some OEM AC-Delco 100,000 mile plugs and she ran like she was on top of the world again.. I would trade them and see if your car runs different.

yeah I've heard a ton of bad things about the platinum +4s, I worked at auto zone for a while and had a ton of people bringing back +4s b/c they did the exact same thing that yours did.

if you really want platinum plugs then go w/ the AC delco rapidfires, I think they are cheaper than the +4s as well
