New, Need Some Info

One of my friends just got a 1983 Z28 Camaro, 305 with a 5 sp manual tranny. (T-Top) Got it cheap and is in good shape for a project car and thats what we are going to use it for. Though we have never worked on a camaro and im not familiar with what it has stock. I saw it was carbed with a quadrajet which is probably aftermarket. We just got it 2 days ago and weather really hasnt been good to view more about it. We had to pull it home cause the owner said the carb was no good but it dont matter since we will be taking the 305 out after we get it to run good and when it gives we are going to drop in a 350 that we have been working on for some time now. Where can I find some specs for the car like compresion, rear end gears, suspension, etc. etc. if we decide to keep it stock for now. What can you guys tell me about this car and do any of you guys have pics of a car like this that might give me some ideas on what it will look like when it gets bascily done. the car is primed right now and has a few rust spots but nothing major and can be fixed. Again im new here and this would be my first attempt in the chevy performance world as I own a 93 lightning (1st gen) and wouldnt trade it for the world at this point but im trying to get my skills up in both chevy and ford. Thanks guys I hope i can learn and get some good advice from you more experianced people on here and look foward to working with you guys.

Tony

First of all run The VIN through this http://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/vin/

it will give you some information you need.

2nd Head over to www.thirdgen.org & go to their boards. Most of those guys there can tell you what you need to know.
but watch it some of the guys get really bossy & over baring.
