new springs for rear hatch

how hard is it to replace to the springs in the rear hatch?

They are not springs but Gas Struts. They are not hard to replace with the right sockets & bits. Just remenber that hatch weighs in over 300 lbs so keep it supported. The cost of the replacements vary from $25 to $50 each and you will need two.

Cheapest i can find are 37.50/each so i just keep a piece of wood in my trunk.

I bought my struts from pep boys about 3-1/2 years ago for about $40.00 each!
