oil pressure
I was driving my 86' IRCO (305 TPI) home and noticed that my oil pressure gauge was around 15 PSI... freaked out i pull into my driveway and immediatley check the oil level, the dipstick is at the "full" mark.. thinking maybe it was the oilsending unit i replaced it... after that i started it up, same deal oil pressure is reading low..... i have ran it quite a bit, it makes NO ratteles or any other noises... does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be ?? i woundered if maybe my gauge is bad ? but i dont know.... please help me out...
thanks,
Ryan

The third could be your gauge. I am not sure where your sender is but ground the wire and see if the gauge reads max pressure. Unground it and see if it reads min pressure. After that, it's back to the 2 items.
A final test requires a mechanical gauge to be hooked up where the oil sender is and the mechanic should be able to tell you what the pressure is.

Thanks again for the help... shouldn;t it be pretty easy to hook a mechanincal gauge up and look for myself ??? wouldn't it just screw into the "hole" for the oil sending unit?? which is just behind the distributer...........if so, were could i buy one at ??? know of any good places online ?? how about any good stores.....
Thanks again

Mine is near the oil filter but I have a rough idea of where your's is. Can you get it without disturbing the distributor? If so, go to an auto parts store and get a simple unit. If you have to remove the distributor, do you have a timing light and know how to replace your distributor? If so, you can do it yourself.
