old lifters,new cam?????

old lifters,new cam?????

i am thinking and am probably use the old lifters on my new cam.
the car has 150000kms(90000m) they look in good shape and am just wondering if anyone has done this

Roller lifters can be re-used for sure if they look good. BE sure to do a proper break in as always.

If they are flat tappet lifters for any reason, ditch them and get new oned

Roller cams don't have a break in. In any case, I'd get new lifters just to make sure I don't have to tear the manifold off later when a lifter fails.

If you're gonna be turning more than 4-5000 rpm's on any kind of regular basis those 90k mile lifters will collapse pretty quickly. get new ones just on principle. The extra cost is better than the time and effort to tear her apart to replace them.
