one wire alternator question

Hey, I have a few questions about one wire alternators. I switch my car to and electric water pump so i bought an Alan Grove mid mount bracket. My car is a 91 and the alternator will not bolt up to it. But it will with one of the older style alternators. But my questions are, one...Can i get an alternator for like a 79 Camaro Z-28 and just use the one power wire to the starter, or... two...what is a cheap way for this to work?
Thanks

Re: one wire alternator question

i will try to post some pics tommarrow, but let me kind of clear up some stuff. My alternator bracket is a mid mount on the pass side of the motor. The alternator i was going to use is from a 91 Camaro, which has a smaller casing than say a 79 Camaro. So i think that is what i need, which is like a GM 10si alternator style casing. And im really just trying to figure out how i would go about wiring this, if i just went to say Auto Zone and picked up an alternator for a 79 Camaro. thanks hope that helps a little.
