Is the 13.7 with all the current mods listed?

You can do alot better than a 13.7 with that kind of cash outlay. I've seen near stock 91-92 350 TPIs hit that with 500 bux in bolt ons... Looks like he spent alot in the engine rebuild and such, but still has a near stock engine really. So of course he appears to have some bottlenecks, I see no mention of any TPI mods, so the intake is corking the whole motor (was a choke point on the stock motor for crying out loud), 2 3/4" I-pipe is too small, etc. He has a fresh rebuilt motor now that is just waiting to reach full potential with a couple key mods IMO.

Perhaps he runs at a high altitude track or something too...

Hey Ray87Z
Are you running TPI on your cars? What do you think the hot setup is on the topend? Vortecs and new base? Enquiring minds want to know

Well it cost me around $3000 to get into the 13's. I don't know how far into the 13's I'll get yet because its still scorching hot here. In agbout 2 months we'll see exactly how much $3000 in mods to a 3rd gen can go. Current best is 13.73

I'm sorry to say but you paid way too much to only run 13.7. Hopefully you've got a crappy 60' time or something, because you should be doing a lot better. Especially with that cam. I'm running a second faster with basically the same cam. My dad's best is 13.70 with only a port-matched TPI intake, 350 heads, SLP 1 3/4" headers, 3" Magnaflow exhaust, and an LT1 cam with 1.6 rockers.
Mr. AAAAAAAAA Please dont be discouraged by a few bad times. Thirdgens and TPI are just starting to get discovered again, and there are many new mods and tricks out there to make them run really fast, 12's and better. Its much cheaper to get parts for a thirdgen than for a 4th gen, too.

The TPI is still on the 305 car, and ported out decently it does fine on the 305. The Stealthram looks interesting but I'm not sure how it would do on the 305...

The TPI intake for Vortecs wasn't available yet when I did the 87Z's engine, so I ended up going carb (Perf RPM intake, Holley 750). If they ever make a Stealthram for Vortec heads I'll swap over and try that out... I'm not swaping over to use the stock long runner-style TPI setup that is now available though. Doesn't look like a bad setup to try if you still have TPI though. The only dyno numbers I've seen for that setup wasn't as good as I had hoped... However, I like the idea of the Stealthram on some other heads better, like say the Trickflow heads or something else affordable. Should make a sweet setup, I'm thinking of getting another 3rdgen and trying that setup out.
