Over Heating and Ticking Noise
Hey guys, I just got done with my 113 head swap. I am having a couple of problems and one of them is with the cooling system. The guage is reading at 260 after only a couple minutes of running. I have no idea why its getting that hot. During the head swap I installed a brand new water pump, new 180 degree thermostat, flushed all the coolant out and installed a new temperature guage sending unit. Radiator is less than a year old also. Any ideas on why my car is getting that hot?
Next, there is a ticking noise of some sort. I cant tell if its an exhaust leak, or what. Heres a video I took: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rvMzzfA0jU
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The car is an 86 Iroc w/305 TPI.

I dont have the old temp switch.
We were setting the timing today, and the fan didn't turn on. The temp was at 235-240, and the fan still didn't come on. So the fan not turning on is the main problem? Or what I'm trying to say is would the fan running/not running make the difference between it running too hot and not?
If not then I'll move on to the t-stat
