polishing iroc wheels? info

polishing iroc wheels? info

ok, how would one go about this?

strip off the old paint

300, 600, then 1500 grit? polishing wheel? is it that hard? can i do it with the tire on?

I'm not sure myself how to do this, but I know this is a pretty popular topic of at www.thirdgen.org check out the appearance and detailing section or even the tech. articles. You'll find the info. you need over on that site.

the article there wants a dremel and crap, and it talks about only stripping the clearcoat....i want to take off ALL the paint, and polish the ENTIRE wheel, can that be done by going to finer and finer grit sandpaper then using a polishing wheel or whatever? basically, i had to buy a replacement wheel for the one i broke, it's the same kind (85-87) but now my 4 wheels do not look the same at all color wise, so i figure, why not just polish them all.

id like to be able to just jack the car up, take a wheel off, and slowly do all 4.


oh yea, where is the axle code? if im looking at the rear of the car, where do i look?
